Hi, is there a way we can trigger a blockout charge window for when demand tariffs re in effect? Or is there an API we can poke to trigger the schedule at will ?
Cheers,
Evan

Hi @evanmelindarose . You can configure Blockout schedule periods to match your demand window using the schedule. There is no automatic way to do this, nor is there an API for doing so.

Jay.
Yes, but it’s not seasonal to match the NSW tariff windows. If the API allowed more control that would be an easier fix.
Evan,
I have a 15:00 to 19:00 charge blockout to prevent charging during the demand window. I’ll probably just leave it in place for the few months where the demand window isn’t active. That’s a fail safe setting with very little downside.
It’s easy enough to “Charge Now” for the few occasions where I’m likely to want to charge at that time (given it’s usually peak prices anyway, it’s fairly rare) .
In the past when daylight savings changeovers were somewhat chaotic, trying to completely automate them was much more trouble than it was worth. There’s a risk you’ll get caught with an “oops” in the automation.
