There appears to be something overriding the settings so I have to continually restore control - see the screen shot attached
. I have enabled both override options in the Advanced Settings, I have removed the schedule from the Tesla app and I have changed my Tesla password to ensure no other 3rd party app is interfering.
Auto charging from solar continually stops when the Charge HQ Home Screen is not active on my iPhone or MAC. What is the issue? Is it related to 1. above?
All in all, the app is not controlling charging at all unless
Many thanks.
Hi @jennifer.trewhella . Based on the logs, it appears something is causing your Tesla to start and stop charging repeatedly at certain times, and it’s not Charge HQ. The most likely possibilities are:
Another third-party app. Ensure you have revoked access to all third-party apps except Charge HQ in your Tesla account.
A fault with the charging equipment.
A fault with the vehicle (unlikely).
You can set Charge HQ to retain control at all times, but I would recommend finding the issue instead, as it’s better not to start and stop charging many times each day.
I have the same issue. No other apps are connected. I keep having to re-enable control and since I’m not notified when it loses control, it means I need to check the app every hour or so.
Note that Charge HQ will only “fight” with the other control up to 4 times, and then it will give up control. But it will send you a notification when this happens.
This would be a useful option to enable whilst trying to determine what is going on.
Thank you. I tried that but it keeps happening. Question: my wife’s office is near the garage. Could it be that her coming in and out of the office is causing her phone key to connect with the car and therefore causing the conflict?
I would suggest disconnecting Charge HQ and removing its access as well, and then using the Tesla app to manage charging for a few days and see if charging starts or stops by itself. If it does, you could open a service request with Tesla.
Also, just to be certain, if there are any other Tesla accounts that have access to your vehicle, ensure they have no third party apps with access.
There is currently no widespread issue with Tesla vehicles starting and stopping by themselves, although that has happened in the past with certain software versions.
I’ll watch it for a couple more days to see if I can tell what triggering it. And then try what you say. When I look at the Tesla app it currently says “waiting for sufficient solar”. The sun is low right now, so it’s charging the PW and not enough for the car. I assume I’m supposed to keep it on “charge on solar in the Tesla app?
