My setup is:
SolarEdge inverter
Tesla Powerwall 2
Tesla EV
I am on EV night charging electricity plan where I pay only 8 cents between 12am and 6am. I have set my Powerwall up to charge itself/use grid for home usage during this time window. It works great, especially on days when we get rain/clouds all day. I have bought bought full rate electricity from grid only on 3/4 days over last 8-9 months I have been on this plan, and then too very minimal amounts.
Only bug is that if the system starts exporting and car is not plugged in, it will not charge the car till much later if at all. This is due to Tesla Powerwall keeping itself at 90 something percent (to minimise time it spends fully charged and extend battery life, the app says) and car is then waiting on powerwall to charge. It works fine if car was plugged in when system starts generating power. To me seems like a Tesla bug.
Anyway, this is where I am trying to utilise Charge HQ, having used it regularly before I went on time of use plan. I want Charge HQ to charge my car when battery is 90%. This way I want to avoid system exporting to grid while car waits for Powerwall to charge.
I am not able to get this working. I have read and followed instructions on setup articles. Charge HQ is just not able to trigger the charging.
TL/DR: ChargeHQ not able to trigger charging for Tesla EV when used with Powerwall on Time of Use.
