EVlink Charger and MG ZS - unable to reduce charge rate

Charging is working fine at the default rate (app set to 32A per phase, but charging at a displayed rate of ~14A due to vehicle / cable capability), when I try and set a lower “Charge Amps” (i.e. to utilise solar) charging stops with a status of “SuspendedEV” (I think I have seen SuspendedEVSE as well).

I have tried values from 6-10A and all fail. same happens if I try and start a “ChargeNow” with a lower rate.

Charger is 22kw 3 phase EVlink, I updated to the latest firmware which did not help. Cable is a 11kw cable and car MG ZS LR takes a max 11KW AC.

@phil.vergers thanks for your post. I haven’t seen that problem before. Is it possible that your EVlink is configured with a minimum charge rate somehow, ie in the EVlink configuration portal?

I know the EVlink has a minimum charge rate of 8A (not the usual 6A) and will stop charging if you request a value below 8A. But it should work fine down to 8A.

interestingly if I change the max charge rate within the EVlink configuration from 32A down to 10A, charging also fails (i.e. even independently of chargeHQ) - its like the car rejects the charge request from the EVlink unless it is the full charge rate. I have the MG 1.8KW granny charger that does charge ok at a much lower rate.
