I have excessive solar that some of it is going back to the grid and only some of it goes to the EV charger, how do I fix that?
I want to Utilise the maximum excessive solar power to my EV 1st and set the priority to minimum for the grid ?
Hi @alphaa . Looking at your data, it appears that your vehicle may be charging using 2 phases, not 3 phase?
For example, it reports charging at 11 amps at ~5 kW. That only adds up if the number of phases is 2, ie 11 amps x 240 volts x 2 phases = ~5.3 kW.
If this is the case, unfortunately Charge HQ won’t work as it doesn’t support 2 phase charging, as it will perform the calculations as though 3 phase charging will occur.
Could you send a screenshot from your Tesla EV app when charging that shows the amps and the power?
No. It’s a 3 phase. I think yesterday there was some communication delay with Tesla server or your server. Let me upload another screen shot from today
Thanks @alphaa for the screenshots, however I can’t be sure what’s going on unless a screenshot shows the amps and the power on the same screen, like this:

I think if you tap the “16 km/hr” per your screenshot it will change to kW.
Look at my Tesla app screenshot, my question was that why is it that there are excessive solar power but the charger cannot charge at the right Amp ?
Can the app control where to draw the power from too?
For example, we can charge at a higher rate drawing power from the battery and it can always recoup it back from the solar afterward
If not. But can we still charge at a higher rate and don’t waste the excessive solar and send it back to the grid?
@alphaa to diagnose your issue further, I need a single screenshot from your Tesla app on the EV screen that shows the current charging power (in kW) and the amps, while the vehicle is charging, like this:

The screenshot you attached above of this screen shows the charging rate in km/hr, which doesn’t allow me to diagnose the issue. If you tap the km/hr, it should change to kW.
