HK1000 meter installed but can't see Charge Priority

I have just installed a HK1000 to my Goodwe ESA All in One batteries. Connected it to the ChargeHQ webapp and all looks good. But I still don’t have the Charge Priority Option showing on my app to choose between my battery and EV.

Hi @ericmah777 . Unfortunately Charge HQ does not support Goodwe hybrid inverters, as the Goodwe API does not provide all the required data for hybrids. So it won’t work properly with your equipment.

but i thought the HK1000 is compatible that is the reason why i bought one and installed it cos i knew that my hybrid inverter was not compatible.

On a side note. I have spoken with a Solutions Manager from Goodwe regarding this issue and he said he welcomes any talk in getting the hybrid inverter compatible.

@ericmah777 I’m not sure if a HK1000 attached to a hybrid inverter will work, or at least how well it will work. It does appear that Charge HQ is obtaining data from the HK1000, and it looks correct at a glance.

But the HK1000 does not know about the battery, so the solar charging features of Charge HQ won’t work properly, although you may still be able to make some use of them.

  • When the home battery is full, EV solar charging will work as expected.
  • When the home battery is not full, the EV and the battery will fight over the excess solar. The battery is faster to respond, so it will likely end up charging first, although it won’t be reliable.
  • Setting Solar Tracking Margin = 0.3 kW will cause the home battery to charge first
  • Setting Solar Tracking Margin = -0.3 kW will cause the EV to charge first, although you may have to start the charging manually to get it going.

Hi Jay

I messaged Abi, Goodwe Solutions Manager, and he said he doesn’t think ChargeHQ has integrated with Goodwe ESA All in One hybrid inverter. So just checking if that is the case?

Charge HQ should connect to your Goodwe hybrid inverter, but it won’t get all the required data. It may get the solar data, but it won’t get the grid import/export or the battery data.

I’m not sure exactly how it will work with a hybrid inverter plus a HK1000 meter. You’ll just have to try it!
