Lost Connection to SolarEdge Servers

This afternoon the ChargeHQ app raised an error connecting with the SolarEdge inverter, stating that connections with the servers usually return within a couple of hours. However, this evening the connection hasn’t returned, preventing the use of solar tracking through ChargeHQ. SolarEdge monitoring is still functioning through the SolarEdge app.

I have attempted to reconnect the inverter using the API key that I thankfully wrote down during the original install (see other post: SolarEdge Admin Access no longer possible - #4 by jay). However the ChargeHQ app cannot connect to SolarEdge to reapply the API key either.

Is this currently a widespread problem amongst SolarEdge users and is there anything that can be done?

Hi @Steve. It appears that SolarEdge have started enforcing a daily limit on their API calls for each site. Once that limit is reached, no further calls can be made until the next day. I’ve made some changes today to account for this, and will follow up with SolarEdge.

I notice that you’ve successfully reconnected today, which was possible because your API limit reset overnight.

I’ll publish an update when I’ve investigated the issue further and spoken to SolarEdge. Cheers.

I just joined and am trying to connect my SolarEdge PV system, inverter and charger to Charge HQ. I got the PV system to connect but I can’t get the smart charger to connect. It just shows “Never Connected” as the Connection State. It may be because I entered what I thought was the Solar Edge charger ID when I should have used the ID generated by Charge HQ? Now I can’t change the charger ID at all, even when I disconnect the charger in the Charge HQ app. Can anyone help?
