Multiple home batteries

Hello,
can Charge HQ work with more than one home battery?

I’m in the process of getting a quotes for a new solar and battery setup. My property has a two phase power supply, with each export limited to 2.5kW. I would like to backup most if not all circuits as we experience regular power outages. System preference is 13-15kW PV with Fronius Gen24 inverter and BYD battery. I was initially thinking to go with a 6-8kW system on each phase, but am getting varying advice from installers.

My understanding is that Charge HQ can easily coordinate home battery and EV charging with a Fronius/BYD system, and can also work with two Fronius Gen24s as long as they are on the same solar.web. But does this extend to a system with two inverters where each inverter has a battery attached?
Or am I better off getting one large system on one phase only?

Hi @hanno . Charge HQ supports a single source of solar data. That source must be able to see all the (combined) energy flows at your property.

I’m afraid I’m not sure exactly how a system would work with multiple batteries across phases, in particular I don’t know how Fronius solar.web would handle it, or even if such a setup would work.

Assuming that your billing meter sums across the phases (they usually do in Australia) then you’ll want a system that discharges the batteries in a way that results in zero imports and exports across the phases. I’m not sure how that would work with multiple batteries. Sounds like you need some solid advice from a solar installer!

Thanks @jbanyer, I thought this may be tricky. And yes, billing would use net metering. I also found out that Fronius has a single smart meter that works with 2 and 3 phases, so hopefully Charge HQ can work with that.
I’m still waiting to hear back from a local (and preferred) installer who can hopefully find a good solution.
