I have a Tesla, and have been using Charge HQ scheduled charging for a few months without problems.
However, last 2 months, I have encountered many problem with charging controlled by Charge HQ incorrectly:
After I changed the scheduled time on the Charge HQ app, it still only charges and automatically stops charging according to the OLD schedule. Even within the NEW Charge HQ schedule period, I cannot manually start charge from the Tesla App (because Charge HQ would override my manual action on Tesla App).
It often appears yellow highlighted label on the Charge HQ account saying “External control detected, charge control suspended”. However, I have NO other external charging schedules, including the Tesla app schedules. All my schedules are planned on Charge HQ. All I do in the mornings, just use Tesla app to stop charging or just simply unlock and unplug the charging cord. Often after that, when I plug back in and expect Charge HQ to start when schedule, it does not start, and instead shows me the yellow label in APP. Even sometimes it starts automatically as the new scheduled time, it stops charging at the OLD scheduled time (as mentioned in question 1).
Trouble shooting methods I tried:
Deleted all scheduled charging period or completely turn off the charging control option in the Charge HQ app. Trying to just charge whenever I plug in. However, it still stopped charging at the OLD scheduled time even with the “charging control” turned off in APP.
I rebooted the Telsa car, trying to reset any left over memories in the car. Still didn’t work.
Now when I plug in, I don’t know when and if it will charge. The start and stop time will be very random. I will need some help here please!
As I mentioned above, I have nothing scheduled in the Tesla vehicle or APP. Charge HQ is the only app I use to control charging.
I read the article you suggested. The “Override vehicle schedule” and “Override non-Charge HQ Control” toggles are OFF in my Charge HQ account, and I cannot turn them on as it tells me my Tesla doesn’t have a scheduled charge.
Today, again, although my NEW Charge HQ schedule period is 0930-1730, my Tesla didn’t start charging until 11am, and automatically stopped at 1400, which was according to the OLD Charge HQ scheduled time (has been deleted long time ago).
I feel somehow the Charge HQ APP or Tesla Vehicle still only remembers my OLD schedule on Charge HQ before. As mentioned, even I tried to turn off the “Charging Control” toggle, the Tesla still was controlled somehow by the OLD schedule. I feel there is a bug somewhere.
@nizheng82 the problem is that you have a second Charge HQ account that is also controlling your Tesla. The second account is using an Apple private relay address, which is why it is a different account to your original account. You should log into that account and delete it, under Settings → My Account → Delete Account. Cheers.
I just realized that my husband did have a Charge HQ app installed on his phone! So we adjusted settings on his phone, and will see how it goes tomorrow.
I strongly recommend deleting the second Charge HQ account - Charge HQ is not designed to control a single vehicle from multiple accounts at once. It is very likely to cause more problems.
You can log into both phones using the same Charge HQ account and both access it that way.
