Scheduled charging charge limit doesn't overide vehicle charge limit if > vehicle charge limit

I have solar but not a battery. Say I use solar tracking to charge the car to 80% and hence I have the vehicle charge limit on the home screen set to this value and the battery’s current SoC is also 80%.

Let’s say I need to do a long trip tomorrow. I enable scheduled charging overnight and set the charge limit in the scheduled charge window to 100%. The car doesn’t charge because the current SoC = Vehicle Charge Limit on the home screen.

I realise it WILL start if the Vehicle Charge Limit value on the home screen was greater than the value set in the scheduled charge window and it won’t start for my scenario because it’s the other way around, but why have you done it this way?

I understand the idea is to use the grid to hit a lower SoC using scheduled charging and then use solar to top up, but I need to do it the other way around and I find it crazy it won’t do it.

Hi @ef1 . Thanks for your post.

As you have discovered, Charge HQ never automatically changes the vehicle charge limit. If a scheduled charge period specifies eg 90%, and the vehicle charge limit is 80%, the vehicle will only charge to 80%.

I agree it would be better if Charge HQ did automatically increase the vehicle charge limit to match the schedule limit as required. It’s a feature we may consider adding in future.

Cheers,
Jay.
