Had an idea today which may or may not be useful to others…
I use the Solar Analytics integration. My installation is a bit unique though, in that it’s in a total black spot for 4G reception. As a result, the data tends to come through in bursts and can be quite delayed on some days. (I wish they offered an ethernet/wifi connection but that’s another story…)
So some days ChargeHQ tracks it wonderfully, and some days it’s a bit laggy so I pull from the grid more than needed.
I was thinking that perhaps if live SA data is unavailable for X minutes, ChargeHQ could poll SA for the average generated power over the last week or two, and, if available, any historical data from the same date +/ a week in any previous year(s) where data is available. And from that, generate an “interpolated” likely generation figure to use until live data comes back.
Ironically, I can also get very accurate, 5 second numbers out of the Trannergy inverter via wifi - but that doesn’t subtract any current household consumption.
It’s probably a bunch of work for a very small number of users but I’m a software engineer of many years so my brain just tries to figure these things out…
Congrats and thanks for such an awesome service! It works really well for me in general.
