The problem I am having is vehicle showing off line. Why is it so? I’ve rebooted the vehicle and wall connector and re-paired Charge HQ with the vehicle. Works for a while. The wall connector has needed rebooting lately after years of trouble free operation.
Can you recommend a testing procedure to fault find what is going on?
@twestlake is the vehicle showing offline while charging? Can you provide a date and time when this next happens and I can have a look.
I am having similar issues. I have PW3 with third party solar system. I mainly use solar to charge my Tesla M3.
Lately, ChargeHQ is not detecting vehicle status. Vehicle is always stuck at offline while parked. It would update the status when M3 is restarted but would stop updating shortly afterwards. As a result, ChargeHQ will not get accurate battery percentage from vehicle.
Looks to me like a communication issue between ChargeHQ and Tesla API. The whole automation used to work flawlessly until about two weeks ago. I have tried repairing multiple times without any fix.
@vnomous thanks for your post. When it happens again, please open the Tesla app and check if the vehicle is asleep or online. If it’s online, but Charge HQ says it’s offline, please feel free to send the details (date and time and your Charge HQ email address) to [email protected] and I can investigate. Cheers.
Hi Jay,
Thank you for the email. I have just sent an email with the required information.
Hope this issue will be resolved soon.
Hi Jay
I’m having the same issue I believe and have just sent through as much information as I have. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Jay has emailed me and after looking at my setup found there were connection/disconnection issues. This prompted me to check my network setup, which I’d not even considered - but it’s the problem I believe. I use an Adblocker and found that telemetry.tesla.chargehq.net was being blocked. I whitelisted it and all is now well. Interestingly, no other ChargeHQ subdomains are listed.
My adblocker (AdBlock Home) is using “HaGeZi’s Normal Blocklist” and I believe that telemetry.tesla.chargehq[.]net was added on April 2nd here.
Github doesn’t seem to want to show the diff, but it’s listed in the raw file, but not in the previous commit.
If you’re using any form of network wide DNS adblocking, this might be worth looking into.
@tim thanks so much for digging into it and finding the issue in your case. We’ll look further into whether the blacklisting of telemetry.tesla.chargehq.net
can be removed, and we’ll know to suggest it as a possible cause when people have similar problems.
There is no widespread change in networking metrics across our users, so it appears these are isolated cases. Cheers.
I’ve written a support article for this issue: Running an ad-blocker or firewall on your home network may cause issues with Charge HQ connecting to Tesla vehicles.
Thank you. This solved my issues, too.
