Hi, I’m new to Charge HQ and have purchased the EV charging plan. The product is very good and I’m happy to use it.
I have a suggestion however. The charging can be a bit stop/start when it’s cloudy. Even more so with small to medium solar systems as there is less excess solar to play with. Furthermore the closer we are to the winter solstice the worse it is.
Can I suggest the system obtains the weather forecast so the cloudier (or rainier) it is, it is less willing it is to stop & start. It should also take into account the pattern of excess solar. If it sees frequent instances of solar deficit, the less willing it should be to turn on when there is excess solar or wait longer or when there is more excess. In other words, more intelligence is needed rather than a 6 minutes and 15 minute timer.
There can also be a user setting to affect the behaviour ie steer it to a higher or lower frequency of cycling on and off depending on their preference.
It will really help to stop these stop/start episodes.
